A: It's aromatic fragrance will last forever. To help keep it fresh, now and then, lightly sand the unfinished parts of the drawers. This will expose fresh wood again, making the box smell as strong as the day it was cut.

Q: What kinds of woods are used to make Wilkerson Boxes?

A: Eastern Red Cedar. Our boxes are made from either cedar driftwood or old dead standing cedar. Both types have been dried by the world's best wood kiln, the great outdoors. Years and years spent in the sun, wind and rain have slowly dried and seasoned each piece. The beautiful shapes and textures are a result of this natural aging process.

 

Q: Does my Wilkerson Box require any special care?

A: Like any piece of fine woodwork, certain care must be taken to ensure years of lasting beauty. While our boxes do very well in extremely dry climates, direct exposure to sunlight, a heater or heating vent can cause cracking, especially in the cedar. Conversely, extreme humidity such as a basement or bathroom could cause swelling. If you avoid these two extremes your box will last a lifetime.
